The Bihar Civil Court has officially released the admit cards for the recruitment examination for Civil Court Peon posts, scheduled for March 15, 2026. Candidates are required to download their admit cards from the official website, as individual copies will not be sent.
This recruitment process includes a total of 7,692 vacancies across various posts, with specific positions allocated as follows: 3,325 for clerks, 1,562 for stenographers, 1,132 for court reader-cum-deposition writers, and 1,673 for peon or orderly roles under Group D.
To be eligible for the peon position, candidates must have passed the Class 10 matriculation examination. The age limits for applicants are set between 20 and 25 years as of October 1, 2024.
On the exam day, candidates must carry a valid photo ID along with their admit card. The admit card will include essential details such as the candidate’s name, photograph, roll number, exam date, reporting time, and exam centre information.
In a related incident, a bomb threat was received at Patna Civil Court on February 9, 2026, leading to an evacuation of the premises. This incident caused a delay in the bail hearing for Pappu Yadav, who was arrested in connection with a case dating back to 1995, involving multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Advocate Shivnandan Bharti commented on the bomb threat, stating, “We have been told that a bomb threat has been received on the email address of the District Judge.” Yadav’s legal representative also mentioned that he was moved to Patna Medical College and Hospital under judicial custody due to his deteriorating health.
The situation surrounding the bomb threat and its implications for ongoing court proceedings remains fluid. Details remain unconfirmed.
The position earlier listed as ‘Peon/Orderly’ will now be referred to as ‘Attendant [Peon (General + Orderly)]’. This change is part of the ongoing efforts to streamline job titles within the Bihar Civil Court system.
