“Park Jin-young will not go through the process of reappointment as an inside director at the general shareholders’ meeting on March 26,” stated JYP Entertainment in a recent announcement.

This decision marks the end of a significant chapter for Park, who has served as a registered inside director since 2011, stepping down after 15 years in the role. He has been a pivotal figure in the K-pop industry, having founded JYP Entertainment in 1997 and debuted in the music scene in 1994.

Future Plans

Despite stepping down from the inside director role, Park will retain his position as Chief Creative Officer (CCO), allowing him to continue influencing the creative direction of the company.

Under his guidance, the company has seen remarkable success, including record sales in the second quarter of 2025 and Stray Kids achieving a gross of $76.2 million during their North American tour, which attracted 491,000 audience members.

Stray Kids was recognized as the highest-grossing K-pop tour of 2025 according to Billboard’s end-of-the-year report, showcasing the impact of JYP Entertainment’s artist development strategies.
