Revolutionizing Running Footwear
“We always start with a consumer insight with everything we do,” said Stephan Sholten, a key figure behind the development of the new adidas hyperboost edge. This shoe is designed to cater to a wide range of runners, from beginners to experienced athletes, emphasizing stability and responsiveness without the use of a carbon plate.
Launched on March 17, 2026, the Hyperboost Edge features a new foam compound known as Hyperboost Pro, which has been in development for over two years. “It took us quite a bit – a little over two years – to find the right formulation,” Sholten explained, highlighting the extensive research that went into creating this innovative product.
Key Features and Specifications
The Hyperboost Edge boasts a stack height of 45mm and a heel-to-toe drop of 6mm, providing a unique balance between cushioning and ground contact. Weighing in at 9 oz for men’s size 8.5 and women’s size 10, the shoe is lightweight yet durable, making it suitable for everyday training across various paces.
Constructed with a lightweight material called PRIMEWEAVE for the upper and featuring an outsole made from Lighttraxio rubber, the Hyperboost Edge is built to withstand the rigors of regular use while offering comfort and support. The shoe is positioned strategically between the Adizero performance range and the Supernova comfort range, appealing to a broad spectrum of runners.
Colorways and Availability
At launch, the Hyperboost Edge is available in a striking red colorway, with additional options expected to arrive on May 1, 2026. This variety aims to attract different preferences among consumers, further enhancing its market appeal.
Sholten also noted, “A plate is not great for everything and everyone,” indicating that the design of the Hyperboost Edge is tailored to meet the needs of diverse running styles and preferences. “Honestly, a lot of runners will get something out of it,” he added, reinforcing the shoe’s versatility.
A Legacy of Innovation
The introduction of the adidas hyperboost edge follows the success of the Adidas Boost midsole, which revolutionized the running shoe industry since its debut in 2013. This legacy of innovation continues with the Hyperboost Edge, promising to deliver an exceptional running experience.
As the running community eagerly anticipates the performance of the Hyperboost Edge, it is clear that adidas is committed to pushing the boundaries of footwear technology while keeping the needs of consumers at the forefront of their design philosophy.
