HYBE India Launches Nationwide Auditions for New Girl Group

HYBE has previously dominated global charts with boy groups and girl groups before expanding into India. Now, the company is taking a significant step by launching a nationwide audition for a new girl group, a move that reflects its commitment to localizing K-pop production in the Indian market.

The auditions are set to open on March 31, 2026, and will run until July 31, 2026. Young women born between 2005 and 2011 are invited to participate, with auditions taking place in ten cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune.

Damien Woochang Lee, the CEO of HYBE India, emphasized the importance of this initiative. “India has never lacked talent or ambition – what’s been missing is a consistent pathway to the global stage,” he stated. “This audition is where that process begins.” The auditions will encompass a variety of talents, including vocals, rap, dance, acting, and modeling, aiming to showcase ‘Harmony in Diversity’ and tell authentic stories of Indian women.

The audition process will include both online submissions and in-person rounds, allowing for a wider reach and accessibility. Additionally, the campaign will be amplified through partnerships with major brands like Samsung and H&M, further enhancing its visibility.

As the K-pop industry continues to evolve, the focus on nurturing homegrown talent could pave the way for a new wave of artists who resonate deeply with the Indian audience. Observers are keen to see how this initiative unfolds and what impact it will have on the broader music landscape in India.

With the auditions set to commence soon, excitement is building among aspiring artists and fans alike, eager to witness the emergence of a new generation of K-pop stars from India.
