• In Delhi, the commercial LPG price rose from ₹2,078.50 to ₹3,071.50.
• Mumbai experienced an increase from ₹2,031 to ₹3,024.
• The market-priced 5 kg LPG cylinder increased from ₹549 to ₹810.50.

Despite these increases in commercial rates, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged—an indication that the government is attempting to shield residential consumers from the brunt of rising fuel costs. Officials have stated that retail pump prices for petrol and diesel have also been maintained at current levels.

This latest surge in LPG prices correlates with a broader trend of escalating global crude oil prices, which have surged sharply due to supply disruptions linked to ongoing tensions in West Asia. Recently, global oil prices reached a high of $126 per barrel.

Furthermore, the price of bulk diesel has increased from ₹137 per litre to over ₹149 per litre. These adjustments reflect not only local economic conditions but also external market influences that are affecting fuel pricing across the board.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi commented on the situation by stating, “Please check other parts of the world on how much prices have risen there. We could withhold to this extent.” This remark underscores the government’s position amid international pricing pressures.
