The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has announced the postponement of the screening for the film Jana Nayagan, originally scheduled for March 9, 2026, at 2 pm. This decision comes after a committee member fell ill, leading to an indefinite delay in the review process.

KVN Productions, the film’s production company, received official notification regarding the rescheduling on March 8, 2026. This latest development adds to the film’s ongoing challenges, as it has faced several hurdles since its initial planned release on January 9, 2026.

Earlier, a member of the original committee had filed a formal complaint concerning the film’s depiction of religious sentiments and armed forces logos. In response to this complaint, the CBFC chairman directed the film to a revising committee for further scrutiny.

The filmmakers had previously submitted a letter to the Madras High Court registry seeking to withdraw their legal case against the CBFC, indicating a desire to resolve the issues surrounding the film amicably.
