Ajinkya Rahane, a former India captain, has joined the Amsterdam Flames as a marquee player in the inaugural European T20 Premier League (ETPL). This opportunity arose on the same day Rahane announced his international retirement, marking a new chapter in his cricket career. The league is scheduled to take place from August 26 to September 20, with matches hosted in Dublin, Ireland, and The Hague, Netherlands.

Rahane was a key figure in India’s Test team, especially in overseas conditions. His centuries at venues like Lord’s, Wellington, Melbourne, Kingston, and Durban are considered significant overseas hundreds by an Indian batter, demonstrating his adaptability and ability to rise to challenging situations. He scored more than 8,000 runs across his international career.
